This is a fascinating article shows me there is true evidence of Gaia; 'the living earth' as described by Dr. James Lovelock in his book 'Ages of the Gaia'. The article describes how heat from vents in the ocean raise the surface temperature. I estimate in time they will also find it is due to an increase of iron in the water that spews from those same vents.
